Hello, my name is Daniel Swanzey, and I am the owner of GMJ Small Engine Repair.

I began tinkering with small motors in my early teens when our family’s mower repair guy was exceptionally busy. One day (after I gave him a rather wrong diagnosis of our lawn tractor), he was kind enough to instruct me on the real issues and how to remedy them myself. This led to an unofficial apprenticeship, by him giving me trailer-loads of abandoned push mowers, sending work, and answering hordes of silly questions.

This man was, and still is, a huge blessing in getting me started on this journey.

In the meantime, the Lord flung doors open right, left, and sideways – access to many books and learning resources, a boat load of hands-on opportunities, a shoe-in to powersports, and kind friends who gave their support by trusting me with their equipment.

Most of all, He gave me a loving set of parents who wanted to bless their son and see him succeed. They bent over backwards to encourage me in Good paths. Without their patience, advice, and tireless giving I would not be here today.

Aiming me in the direction of entrepreneurship, they helped me form an LLC in 2020. The rest has been history!

They raised me up with the truth that “The heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps.” – Proverbs 16:9. 

No matter how much hard work or determination on my part, God has humbled me by revealing so many things that I have no control over.

This has been played out over the whole course – everything has been from His hand.
